Proposed Route: Fuerteventura on 125cc Motorcycle
Starting point: Corralejo
•Pick up the motorcycle at CanaryRentMoto: Located in Corralejo, This is a great starting point.. Make sure you bring your driver's license and documentation.
Stop 1: Corralejo Dunes Natural Park
•Distance: 10 km from Corralejo (some 15 minutes).
•Description: A spectacular desert of white sand dunes that contrast with the blue of the Atlantic Ocean. It's a perfect place to stop, take photos and enjoy the views. Highway FV-1 runs through the park, offering an impressive driving experience.
Stop 2: El Cotillo
•Distance: 20 km from the Dunes of Corralejo (some 30 minutes).
•Description: Drive west to El Cotillo, a picturesque fishing village known for its stunning beaches and crystal clear waters. Here you can visit Playa de la Concha, an ideal place for a relaxing bath, and the Toston Lighthouse, offering spectacular views of the ocean.
Stop 3: Betancuria
•Distance: 40 km from El Cotillo (some 1 time).
•Description: Head south along the FV-30 highway until you reach Betancuria, the old capital of Fuerteventura. This charming town is surrounded by mountains and is known for its historic architecture. Here you can visit the Church of Santa María and the Betancuria Archaeological Museum.
Stop 4: Bird
•Distance: 20 km from Betancuria (some 30 minutes).
•Description: Continue towards Pájara, a small town where you can see the church of Our Lady of Regla, famous for its facade carved with Aztec influences.
Stop 5: Cofete Beach
•Distance: 45 km from Pájara (1 time and 15 minutes).
•Description: One of the most impressive beaches in Fuerteventura. The journey to Cofete is an adventure along more challenging roads, but the views and the feeling of being in a remote place are worth it. Here you can enjoy the tranquility and unparalleled natural beauty.
Stop 6: Morro Jable
•Distance: 25 km from Cofete (some 40 minutes).
•Description: Drive to Morro Jable, a tourist town on the southern tip of the island. It is a good place to relax after the long journey, enjoy a good lunch or dinner, and maybe walk on the beach before returning.
Return to Corralejo
•Distance: 90 km from Morro Jable (1 time and 30 minutes).
•Description: After a day full of exploration, Return to Corralejo following the main road (FV-2). This journey will take you along the east coast of Fuerteventura, where you can enjoy ocean views during the sunset.
Tips for the Tour:
1.Combustible: Be sure to check and fill the tank before you leave and whenever you have the opportunity., as some areas may have limited gas stations.
2.Sun protection: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and water. The sun in Fuerteventura can be intense.
3.Appropriate clothing: Although the weather is generally warm, a light jacket can be useful for winds at higher elevations or at night.
4.Documentation: Always carry your driver's license with you, motorcycle documentation and a charged mobile phone.
5.Food and drinks: Although there are many places to stop, It is advisable to bring some food and drink for longer or more remote journeys.
